Grace: The Starting Point of Salvation

Devotional Thought

Grace is the heartbeat of salvation — the unearned favor God extends to the undeserving. Before we could think of reaching for Him, He reached for us. Grace is the door that opens when human effort finds its limit.

Interpretation

Paul anchors the entire gospel in divine initiative. In a culture that prizes performance, grace calls us to rest in God’s sufficiency, not our success. It invites the weary and the guilty to lay down the illusion of earning His favor. The foundation of salvation reminds us that God’s love precedes all our striving. Therefore, our response is not to impress — but to receive.
