Personal Evidence

1/10/25 Mark 1:40-45

Jesus happens upon a man with leprosy who suggests Jesus could heal him if He really wanted to. Jesus rewards the man’s faith by healing him.

Then Jesus gives the man directions which will be fairly common when dealing with Jewish recipients of miracles … “Don’t tell anyone.” Jesus knew that people had differing expectations of the Messiah, and that the expectations of some would interfere with His present mission.

Jesus further tells the man to go see the priest. This would have fulfilled the Mosaic law. But another reason for this directive was present. In seeing the priest, who was given the responsibility of protecting the cleanness of the community, the authenticity of Jesus’ miracle would be proven if it was ever questioned.

Q: What personal evidence can you present that proves Jesus is the Messiah?
